Skin Wars Season 2
I was both humbled and delighted to have our accessories featured on the latest series of Skin Wars, GSN's first TV show to focus on the beauty and creative flair of body art. I love the unique way of adorning the human form with paint in a way that both enhances and celebrates the natural beauty of the body. There is a tribal and primitive essence to this sort of art, which resonates well with the Randy Luna collections.
The series aired on Wednesday June 10th and each week a contestant is eliminated in a thrilling climax. Favorite contestant Fernello Nelson has been wearing Randy Luna each week, and he wears my accessories with such creative flair and a sense of majesty.
Skin Wars is hosted by the beautiful Rebecca Romijn alongside one of the judging panel, the charismatic Ru Paul.
Season Premiere Screening of Skin Wars Season 2
It was an absolute honor to be invited to attend the red carpet preview screening of season 2 of Skin Wars which was hosted by Fernello himself. I styled Fernello and I think you'll agree that he looked especially sharp in his tailored blue suit teamed with a plain black tee which exhibited the specially selected Randy Luna accessory to perfection. As well as celebrating a new season of Skin Wars, it was a wonderful chance to embrace the success of Randy Luna and I couldn't resist wearing accessories from the range.
The night was such a memorable event, it was deliciously glamorous and gave us the chance to mingle with a host of stylish guests and wonderful artists. As art and style lie at the heart of Randy Luna, we felt completely at home. I was overjoyed to be able to share the experience with my stunning sister Ulissa Suarez who embodies the femininity and divinity that lies at the heart of Randy Luna.
There are some incredibly talented artists on this year's Skin Wars and everyone at Randy Luna is hooked on this captivating series.
Access Hollywood Live
Our accessories also featured in NBC's Access Hollywood Live. Fernello was the first bodypainter in history to appear on the show, and he chose to wear Randy Luna to mark the occasion.
On the show Ru Paul challenged regular hosts Billy Bush and Kit Hoover to finish off painting a pair of models who Fernello had started work on 4 hours before. It was a hilarious display, and highlighted just how challenging body painting is. On the show Ru Paul explained how they are looking for expression and artistic technique. Two qualities that Fernello has in abundance.
When I started to design accessories I was conscious of creating a range of beautiful products that were unique and allowed the person to express their own individuality through wearing them. I feel like Fernello is the perfect example of this. He is a true artist and every element of his life is another expression of his art. Whether he is creating mesmerising artwork on a canvas of the human form or wearing Randy Luna, everything he does is a gesture that celebrates who he is.
